‘The Descendants’ wins best film award in Taiwan festival

Iranian feature film ‘The Descendants’ wins an award at the Formosa Festival of International Filmmaker Awards (FFIFA) in Taiwan.

Iranian director Yaser Talebi’s feature film ‘The Descendants’ has won an award at the Formosa Festival of International Filmmaker Awards (FFIFA) in Taiwan.

FFIFA’s best film prize went to ‘The Descendants’, which was directed by Talebi and produced by Mitra Roohimanesh.

Also written by Talebi, ‘The Descendants’ is about the dynamics of a family relationship. Jacob’s family worries about Farrokh, the son of the family. Farrokh left Iran to continue his studies abroad, but he has not been in touch with them for a long time. Jacob travels to Sweden to look for his son.

Talebi’s movie has so far received a number of international awards, including Best Foreign Film Award at the Royal Starr Film Festival in the US.

The 2017 edition of FFIFA was held in Taiwan from December 9-15.

The festival sets out to provide an international platform for filmmakers and give them an opportunity to exchange artistic views. This festival brings together talented filmmakers from around the world and screens independent films in an attempt to introduce the cinema of Taiwan to the world.
